Threadlockers and Threadsealants

Threadlockers and threadsealants represent clean, effective, reliable solutions for simplifying fastening complexity while reducing production and warranty costs. For leak-free assemblies, the Loctite line of threadlockers and threadsealants includes Dri-Loc®, Brass-Loc®, Vibra-Seal® and Dri-Seal™. These materials coat any clean and dry substrate, including steel, brass, plastic, aluminum and powdered metals. Design and process engineers prefer these water-based, solvent-free materials for their ability to:

  • Maintain clamp load and joint integrity
  • Improve assembly consistency through better torque scatter
  • Block out fluids and corrosives
  • Resist thermal extremes
  • Prevent galling and seizing through designed-in lubricity
  • Reduce noise and vibration
  • Simplify service requirements

Threadlockers

Threadlockers activate when installed, crushing a thin veneer of dry film that liquefies and saturates gaps and crevices between threads. A chemical reaction releases an anaerobic adhesive that cures into a dense, impermeable polymer. The result: a unified, leak-free mechanical assembly protected from loosening caused by vibration, thermal stress and pressure.

Threadsealants

Threadsealants resist corrosion and loosening and are reusable up to four times in certain applications. These materials also fill threads and help hold parts in place in demanding environments.

Fast Turnaround and World Class Quality

To meet customer requirements for short lead times, KC Jones custom designs and builds its own process equipment. All lines are adaptable to different part configurations, varying levels of coating viscosities and apply both threadlockers and threadsealants. We also have expertise in complex fittings that high-volume applicators are not equipped to handle.

Our automatic inner diameter coater processes 600 parts per hour, our automatic coating equipment processes 6,000 parts per hour, and our cable coating equipment processes 40,000 parts per hour.

Each coated part is processed at ISO 9001 standards, color coded to facilitate assembly and shipped through just-in-time procedures to customer assembly sites throughout the Midwest and Southern Ontario.
