KC Jones Plating Company and MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions collaborated to provide the drafting and design students from Lakeview High School in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan with information on the plating industry and an overview of metal finishing.
Brian Harrick from KC Jones and Mark Wojtaszek from MacDermid Enthone teamed up to give an outreach presentation to a class of 32 students regarding the design of a hood trim and emblem combination for light duty pick-up trucks. The students will design the emblem and trim, ultimately culminating in the 3D printing of the project. The top three designs chosen from the class will be plated by MacDermid Enthone. A video from the College for Creative Studies’ Bright Design Challenge earlier this year was shared with the class to demonstrate the endless possibilities of design and finishing options.
The project will continue throughout the current school year with KC Jones and MacDermid Enthone staying engaged to provide additional guidance and support for the students. As leaders in the metal finishing industry, both companies share a commitment to outreach projects and industry collaborations such as these to help drive future generations of metal finishing applications and keep our industry healthy and thriving.
